Fairbanks Alumnae Chapter was able to donate gently-used purses to the Interior Alaska Center For Non-Violent Living. Chapter members collected handbags and filled them with toiletry items and an included heartfelt message. We thank the staff of the IAC for collaborating with us to make this project a success and for adding to the bags with additional items-doubling the love!

For their Pyramid Service Project, Sorors Autry and Harrell organized a Suicide Prevention Workshop with a guest speaker. Attendees were briefed on warning signs and intervention techniques to be aware of. Participants were coached on how to have difficult conversation concerning self-harm and providing support to someone expressing ideation.

In collaboration with the Alaska Youth Basketball program, FAC ran the Black History Month museum. There was a station to make ice cream in honor of Augustus Jackson. A historical matching game for participants to identify the names and achievements of Black Americans; and an Excellence in Alaska presentation of Black residents of Alaska who paved the way in social justice and their career fields.
